  4. Once the tapioca pearls reach boiling point, give them a stir and lower the heat to medium.

  5. Set your timer for 25 minutes, stir the mixture occasionally.

  6. While the tapioca  is brewing, prepare the sugar syrup which will sweeten the tapioca. This is pretty simple. 

  7. Mix the brown sugar with an equal amount of hot water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, then pour the syrup into a bowl.

  8. When the 25 minutes expires, take the tapioca off the heat and allow it to stand for 10 minutes. Cover the pot with a lid.

  9. Then pour tapioca into a colander and rinse with cold water for about two minutes.

  10. Once all the water is drained from the colander, place the tapioca into the premade syrup. Then allow it to sit for about 15 minutes to allow the sweetness of the syrup to penetrate fully.

  11. Serve
